Have questions?

Can this actually help my child with ADHD or autism, or is it just a soft toy?

It's genuinely both ... that's what makes it work. The long weighted arms deliver deep pressure input, a form of sensory stimulation that occupational therapists regularly recommend for children with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and sensory processing disorder (SPD). Many parents use it at the first sign of overwhelm, during homework for a calming anchor, or at bedtime to ease the transition to sleep. It's not a replacement for therapy, it's a practical tool that supports the regulation work your family is already doing.

My child already seeks out intense sensory input, won't this just wind them up more?

This is one of the most common questions we get, and it's a fair one. Deep pressure input works differently to the input kids seek when they're already dysregulated (like spinning or crashing into things), it's calming rather than stimulating, because it activates the parasympathetic nervous system rather than revving it up. Most kids naturally settle into hugging or holding it rather than using it actively, which is why OTs use weighted tools specifically to bring a child down from overstimulation rather than add to it.

Is it safe? My child is rough with toys and puts things in their mouth.

Designed with child safety first, this weighted plush uses non-toxic, hypoallergenic materials and secure, durable stitching. The weight is distributed to provide gentle, comforting pressure without concentrated heavy points, and all elements are firmly enclosed to prevent loose parts. While built for daily hugs, we always recommend regular seam checks and general supervision for younger children, especially if they tend to mouth objects.

What age and size is it suitable for? My child is bigger than most.

It's designed for children aged 3+ and is genuinely useful for tweens and adults too, plenty of our customers use these for themselves, not just their kids. It measures approximately 45cm and weighs 1kg. Compact enough for a child to carry and cuddle easily, while still delivering real, noticeable calming pressure.

Can I use this as part of our NDIS plan?

Many families do purchase sensory tools like this through their NDIS plan under Consumables or Assistive Technology, particularly where it supports goals around sensory regulation or daily living. Eligibility depends on your individual plan and what your planner deems "reasonable and necessary." We'd recommend checking with your plan manager or OT, if your OT has recommended deep pressure tools as part of a sensory diet, ask them to note it in writing to make the claims process smoother.

How do I look after it, and what if it arrives damaged?

We recommend spot-cleaning with a damp cloth for everyday messes, and hand-washing gently for anything deeper, avoid the machine, as it can affect the fur and shift the internal weighting. Everything ships in protective packaging built for Australian delivery networks. Please check your order on arrival and reach out immediately if anything's damaged or wrong, we're a small Australian business and we sort it directly, no chasing an overseas warehouse.

How does the 30-day money-back guarantee work?

Just reach out within 30 days if you're not happy with it. We'll organise a refund, easy and stress-free.
